Who is Dr. Kay?

Dr. Kierystan “Kay” Johnson has over seven combined years of public health, behavioral health, and teaching experience. Academically, Dr. Johnson has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, a Master of Public Health, and a PhD in Public Health, specializing in Epidemiology. Kay leverages her expertise of epidemiology and human behavior, coupled with a holistic approach to cultivate an “I Want to Be Well” human experience. Kay has particular interest in mental health awareness, health equity, bullying prevention, and grief support. Kay’s most notable contribution to research is “Bullying, Participation in Physically Violent Behavior, Suicidal Ideation, and Behavior among African American Youth”. Kay is using her platform for the improvement of the overall human experience from beginning to end, through the promotion of consistent self- care, encouraging mental health equity, and driving a positive narrative regarding death and dying.
